Hero
I just home from seeing Hero. Before seeing it, I was a little skeptical about all the rave reviews it had been getting. Of course, I expected it to be a good movie and just as entertaining as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but I thought the critics may have been a little too efusive about it all and hyping it too much.
Boy was I wrong. The movie lived up to be everything promised -- absolutely awesome! If there was truly a epic masterpiece of cinematic creativity, this is it. The fight scenes may fall a little short of those in Crouching Tiger, but Hero more than made up for that with its breathtaking cinematography that was superior to Crouching Tiger’s.
But in the end, what really made the movie for me were its surprising plot and its final message about war -- very simple but incredibly profound. You’ve got to check it out!
