Japan’s Idea of Women’s Equality
A recent article on Salon.com notes that a report released in October by Corporate Women Directors International shows that among seven countries surveyed, the U.S. had the highest proportion of board of directors members who were women, at almost 14%. On the other hand, Japan had the lowest proportion, a pitiful 0.2%.
We can always count on the Japanese to be socially progressive and forward-thinking . . . yeah, right.
