Top Blogging Stories of 2005
Blogpulse has a special Year in Review page that documents some of the most popular blog stories of 2005. The page contains graphs of different items by category -- such as “Sports,” “Mother Nature,” “The Evolution Debate,” “iPod vs. Xbox 360 vs. PlayStation 2,” etc. -- and their proportion of all blog posts for each month in 2005.
Some of the more interesting graphs show:
- Harry Potter seems to have received more blog postings than President Bush
- Coke is blogged about more often than Pepsi (perhaps because of Coke is the target of a national boycott campaign)
- Hunter S. Thompson’s death was blogged about more often than Pope John Paul II’s
- Of the major national holidays, Thanksgiving is blogged about the most
Check it out for yourself -- it’s pretty interesting to see how these graphs represent an aggregate picture of the “typical” blogger (if there is such a thing).
