Deadliest Animals in the World
Ever wonder what are the deadliest animals known to humans? Well, according to LiveScience.com, the top 10 (presumably measured in number of deaths directly attributable to it each year) are:
10. Poison Dart Frog
9. Cape Buffalo
8. Polar Bear
7. Elephant
6. Australian Saltwater Crocodile
5. African Lion
4. Great White Shark
3. Australian Box Jellyfish
2. Asian Cobra (50,000 human deaths a year)
1. Mosquitos (more than two million deaths a year)
As this list shows, you don’t have to be a huge menacing brute animal in order to be dangerous. Nor do you have to kill a human yourself (although animals such as the Asian Cobra don’t have a problem doing that). Instead, you only need to be very good at doing one or two things. In the case of the mosquito, that’s spreading deadly diseases from one human to the next.
The lesson here is, looks can be deceiving and that the little guy may actually do the most damage.
