I just came across the DismalWorld.com site that contains a collection of historic and poignant photographs taken through the years. As the title of the site implies, the photos do not depict “happy” scenes. Rather, they illustrate in very stark ways the tragedies and suffering that we as humans perpetrate against our own kind.
